Are there any solutions out there that would allow me to build a store that different sellers could "host" their products in, and get paid directly for? I'm envisioning a store where I'm paid a flat fee monthly to host the products of numerous different sellers/manufacturers, where all the transactions go back to them directly and not me. But these products would all be hosted and available from the same one store/shop.
http://www.x-cart.com/mall_solution.html is likely the only thing I would suggest that is in the ballpark of reasonably priced. You are looking for a multi-vendor system. http://www.google.com/search?q=mult...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a hope that helps, Nigel
So I'm still looking at doing this. I've found iScripts Multi-Cart which seems to be my favorite so far. http://www.iscripts.com/multicart/ Very economically priced. Simple well designed user interface. Vendor control panel isn't overly complicated. It supports multi vendor checkout (IE I add an item to my cart from 3 different vendors, I only check out once and they all get paid at the same time) It support the method I desire of having a commission or percentage deducted from each sale and sent to a separate (my) account. I've also looked at X-cart http://www.x-cart.com/ . Ruled it out because it doesn't have a way to separate the money/commission from the vendors to the store owner and it all must be done externally. I'm lazy and just want to receive money to my paypal account without doing any external accounting. Plus I'll have a harder time selling the idea to vendors when they dont instantly receive the money for their product or are required to ship products before they get paid. Thats kind of an epic fail. I've looked at Ixxo Multi Vendor http://www.ixxomultivendor.com/ . Its a little bit out of my price range. The front end seems awfully clunky and the vendor back end more complicated than it needs to be, and not too intuitive. Does anyone use this and what has been your experience with it? Are there any others in the $1000 and under range I'm missing?
