I’ve looked throughout the DP forum and found many pieces throughout many threads, here and there, about the best way to start creating and earning money with your own adsense website(s). I may have missed it, and am sorry if I have, but I have yet to run across a thread that goes deeply into the subject of just how to form a plan of action to take to get you started on your way. Some things seem to be generally accepted if you want to create a successful website with good adsense earnings, such as choose a topic that you enjoy and you are knowledgeable about (or at least are willing to learn a lot about) and provide good quality original content for your visitors to enjoy. Optimize your site for the search engines, the visitors, and adsense. Do the work necessary to bring in good traffic to the site because traffic means money. Other advice seems to have a divergence of opinion, such as some say to choose a single topic and create lots (a hundred to hundreds of pages) of good content and draw a hopefully good income from that one site while others say to create many multiple smaller sites (20 – 50 pages), that are much more narrowly focused, and draw your hopefully equally good income from many smaller profit sites. This is where the knowledge of this forum can help me, and probably others, choose a path of website development to follow. I ask your advice on the following. I have good knowledge of, and truly enjoy, nine different and totally unrelated subjects and would like to build a website (or sites) and monetize them with adsense. I would like to stick to websites and not a blog at this time even though I know that they can compement each other.(Just not into blogging) My question is should I just pick of one topic and jump in and concentrate fully on that subject with a large site (hundreds of pages) and hope that it catches fire or do you think a better approach to take would be to build nine smaller sites (about 30 pages each) and see which one or ones catch fire and then build those into large sites? (I know that optimizing nine different sites will be nine times the work) Any advice from all opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
it's purely a matter of choice but it is important to set goals each month. I would advise some serious reasearch n average CPC's before starting and you can do that with the google CPC tool here; https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox Stick with those subjects that have higher rates so that you are not wasting your time chasing after tiny profit margins
Research (adwords tool, keywords tools...) Analyse (well use your brains ) Test (squiddo, blogger...) Re-Analyse Decide what to do It's the best you can do to avoid wasting time.
If that was true I would be ruined! My experience shows, the more sites, the less work in % per site.
If you don't have a full-time job that takes up most of your working hours during the day -- if you're a student or between jobs, for example -- then I'd say create as many sites as you can and see which ones catch fire. If you do work full-time, then you have a limited number of hours to devote to site building, and so I'd say focus on only one site and make it really great, useful and SEO-friendly.
If you expect to get professional result, you have to give your full dedication, time and energy. If you are happy with pocket money result, you can give your spare time and hobby energy.
