I think legal issues is the best area, however I dont mean to sound 'mean'. I sold a script a few months back, a search engine, I sold it with unique rights and resell rights. The buyer was happy and all was well, untill I released another search engine, not based on the same code (At all), infact none of the same code, now the buyer wants a refund I will likey refund but I was just wondering what would you do?
FYI I am the buyer. How I found out: TvCokeCan/Soap Bath essentially forgot to remove my search engine name from one of his pages - firefox plugin CometQ FlipNsearch So I tested the results - essentially the same. The thing is the gentleman above me had access to the server all along, as it is his. My claim is that the site and code were sold as one. This code became mine and no license was given to him to modify/rework the code from implementation into a new engine. Whether or not the new code is different is not an issue. The issue is where it came from and what license, or rather lack off, he had to modify it. There is already an intellectual property issue with the Firefox extension page. I see the code as another issue.
Also would like to point out that he offered the refund. I was merely going to ask him to take the site down. When he offered I figured I prefered the money.
This issue between TVCokeCan and myself is resolved. I am ashamed to say I was wrong. Apologies have been made to TVCokeCan.
