Everyone loves to laugh right? That was our thought when we decided to make Comedy Meter to promote a bigger site. The script was sculpted over months and we were finally all set to create an equally killer design. It was at this juncture that a new management makes a dramatic entry into the company. And they have one agenda: they want the site sold! All our work going to someone else. Consequently, it is for sale now at Flippa. In the meanwhile, if you marketing gurus would critique the idea and it comes out overwhelmingly positive (hey, I'm not suggesting anything!), we would be able to show it to the management and maybe convince them to not sell it. Of course before the auction reaches it's reserve price which is only slightly higher than the current bid. The idea is to add tons of funny youtube video links and just promote the site through social media and word-of-internet. Not unlike wildfire would it spread from there. After all, who doesn't enjoy good humor?
No that is not the reason. Most sites that do that are blogs that show embedded videos. None show it in a completely hands-free fashion as this one mainly because the code to do that is not easy to write. The bulk of the development is done already. The only costs involved from now on is for web design, which would, at best take a day or two or about $200. It is just about the time. That is definitely a good point, thanks!
its a great idea for a site obviously everyone likes to laugh. all ideas are good but its all about how it comes out in the end. design, how its promoted, and its content. content sounds good but really, it can be taken in many directions still. until something is up and running, its hard to review the idea.
hello, the idea is very good and quite unique in its own but the problem with it being on the sale is that any production firm/company would like to do business with whatever data or products they hold within, you have created something that will provide them only a moral and character relief and happiness for which they are not buying or paying. Not to be hard on your feelings but any funny video can make you laugh and using a meter for measuring laugh is like using a meter for measuring how much you are tired, would you care if u r tired and asked to measure, NO. you would opt for rest.
