A simple question about Photoshop CS2.. confused

    Ok,

    So am not exactly a newbie.. but ... prolly an amateur...

    And.. i've been designing web 2.0 logos for some time now.
    However, i've got a problem, would appreciate if someone helped.

    When i follow tutorials, everything turns out to be brilliant.. however, when i go about doing things on my own, nothing works! :eek:

    Neway.. here's the situation..
    I am trying to create a reflection effect for a text/logo... so... when i apply the gradient to the reflection.. to cut/erase part of it.. this is what i end up with!

    I think you need to select first the layer of the reflection text when you apply the gradient.

    I've done that.. infact.. i've also rasterized the layer (which is obvious)..
    But.. still can't get it :S

    Just duplicate your text layer and flip it vertically..
    I made a simple PSD for you hope its what you are looking for!
