A search by site name doesn't show the site in Google

I've submitted my site map to Google. I've also done social bookmarking for few pages at some sites like digg and del.icio.us. Yet when my site is searched by its domain name ("howtotuts"), it doesn't appear anywhere in Google.

    Any tips?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello:

I did a search using this term site:howtotuts.com
    (Not exactly Domain Name)

If that's the correct domain name, it's indexed 27 or 28 pages.

I would work on the <HEAD> part at the top of the page. Like placing the Description tag & keyword meta tag directly under Page Title tag.

I would change the home page title tag from this Software archive -- HowToTuts.com
    To something else maybe...
    <title>Software Script - How to Install Tutorials</title>

I don't thing you need HowToTuts.com in your page title plus Software & archive I would think is more common than

On all the other pages take each Page Title, Description & Keyword meta tags & make them unique to that page in fact similar to your page file names like this example for the Gallery Tutorial...

    <title>Gallery Software Script Tutorial </title>
<meta name="description" content="Learn how to install gallery script software tutorial on your web site/.">
    <meta name="keywords" content="gallery software script install web site tutorial">

I was in a hurry on the above, but it would work until you get all the pages similar & then go back & tweak the code as needed per page. I would get this done before getting links back to your site, the links can come when it's more search engine friendly.

    Have a Nice Day!

On the first note : Who will search for your site name? And if so, how much volume is it per month and is it worth the amount of time?
By just using the art of link building, your site name will normally appear in SERPs after some time.

Keep Promote it more, when you search in keyword of your site domain name, if it show up on first page, your site is now getting more better on quality.

Perfect timing, went from 28 to 40 indexed pages in less than 24 hours! :)

Don't you need to redo your site map now, since you made changes?

Good Luck & Keep on Tweaking!

Aaron, My site itself is a blog. Where else should I blog about my blog

DJ5A: Is there a tool to check the no. of pages that got indexed by google or is it just counting the no. of pages when you search for the site name in Google?

DJ5A: If you are talking about the sitemap for Google, a plugin takes care of it automatically whenever the content is updated.

If you are talking about a sitemap for the blog visitors, I am not sure if users will benefit from it since between the categories, tag cloud and the search box, I think every article can be located and accessed.
