"A" records on dns settings, redirecting from dev to prod

    I'm hosting a site for a friend and she wants to jazz up the site so I've created a test install by creating a subdomain, using plesk to copy the site and copy the database and I've manually updated the config records.

    Her whois records point back to the domain registrar so I've created an A record in there for the dev install and given it the ip address of the server.

    When I enter in the dev url I get bounced to the production site.

    Any ideas what I need to check?

    Hello there,

    Check the database to see if the original URL is listed, the software may be referencing it. You may need to go into the DB to update it if this is the case. Do the main site and sub domain share the same IP?
