For those who have yet to succeed using Amazon Associates, I would like to present a case study of one of my Amazon review websites which has been performing pretty well. I hope it will give you an idea of how to succeed using Amazon Associates :)

Yeah the make one dollar per site x a million sites model.

Find a niche that has no competition... then ask yourself why it has no competition.

This is the same old stuff. Some people can make some money exploiting very long tail low competition keyword phrases. But it's not where the real money is located.

Yep. Of course, if you want to make serious money then there are better methods but targeting a long tail keyword is a good start for beginners in affiliate marketing.

I've found that Amazon works really well with Hubpages. If you write hubs on the right topics, you can drive qualified traffic to them and make sales right from each individual hub. It's really a good source of extra income at Christmas or before I go on vacation.

good sharing but here're some ways better and fast than this one! amazon is a site for shopping, so people who came there there are ready to ACT, you need directly to use buyer keywords! to make more money ;)

Yes Once you have the main keyword ranked at a high SERP then you should try and rank for the individual reviews for that specific product name.

Its a nice case study and thanks for sharing. I do think you would be better targetting a niche that you know a lot about. There is only so much passion you could have for solar mole repellers and maybe you could run out of steam...

you make a great point but Amazon makes it so easy for you to write a product review. You just have to go over to the customer review section and you will find thousands of genuine customer opinions about a certain product hence I don't believe you will ever reach a point when you run out of steam. If you only target niches you know a lot about then you are limiting your options significantly.

Good point - so if you want to target a niche you don't know much about, you can use the reviews on Amazon as inspiration?

This is an excellent example of how a beginner, or experienced, internet marketer can find success within a micro-niche. Micro-niches are great places for beginners to start, because there is usually very little competition for sales and for keywords. Plus, using keywords associated with users searching for purchasing, and not just for information, makes your marketing that much more effective. I hope that this was a not a real-world example, but if it is I hope that other marketers don't abuse your hard work.

What keyword tools do you use for your research?

I like to use Google's Keyword Tool and the search tool once I have identified a potential niche.
