it may be a stupid question but I want to know it for sure.

what is the difference between

Shared Hosting and Reseller Hosting?

and how do you know a offer made for hosting on this forum is trustwordy.
I mean like they won't steal your money and don't give you the hosting.
how do you know their speaking the truth.

 

Shared hosting is when your site's hosting is on a computer that's hosting hundreds of other websites. The other end of the spectrum from shared hosting is "dedicated" hosting, where your website is "dedicated" to 1 computer's resources.

Reseller hosting is just you being able to sell a vendor's hosting plan to other customers...thus, you're "reselling" their hosting.

 

well I'm going to make a site, and I have never had hosting.
What are you guy's using shared or resseller.
Wich one should I pick?

 

Just go with shared hosting. Use http://www.hostgator.com...they're pretty cheap.

 

Shared should be fine for you starting out. Reseller hosting is for when you want to sell web hosting plans to people/clients.

I went to godaddy and searched for a domain name, a dot info.
it said this is already taken.

but I could still buy it, there was written BackorderNow†.

what does this mean?

I will buy a domain name, and I want to host it on a free hosting first.
with my new domain, I want to take a look on how it will work out.
and I if I get lots of visitors I will buy hosting.

but what is the best free hosting, where I can host my own domain name.

There are too numerous to count free host available. Just use the search "free hosting" here at DP, you will reach them. Some with pre-conditions and some without. Enjoy. To answer your exact question on best free host? I too was searching for them all these days.

 

I will try to make a search, I don't want to pay for hosting for now, maybe my site won't be any good.

Shared hosting is the most "normal hosting" that usually most webmasters use I guess
