A question to those in digital marketing

    I am applying for a place on a course, and one of the questions is;

    * What do you think you will be doing on a day-to-day basis? Make sure this is a list of tasks you think you will be doing rather than a list of vague statements e.g. “Editing email newsletters” as opposed to “helping the company with marketing”

    I wonder if people could perhaps tell me their day to day tasks... or day to day tasks that get given to the 'bright young graduates' like myself ;)

    You could start looking at everything around Check Stats ( inc Check Traffic , Search Keywords , referers) - This leads to other work.. ( will try post more later.. v tired right now!)

    Here are a few: submit website to new directories, exchange links with similar websites, post to multiple blogs and forums

    check emails for support questions
    check the market for what others are marketing while still checking for any new trends
    setting up products
    sending out sales email's
    maybe at least 2 hours of promotion a day (( get links, posting in forums, signing up for new promotion sites ))

    Talk with people who run complementary websites. For me, I run TextAdMarket.com, so I speak with SEO blog owners on a daily basis.

    Submitting to link *spam* directories is boring and a waste of time.....at least it always has been for me. I can't tell you how many thousands of directories I've been listed in, but haven't helped me in any sort of way.

    1) Talk with people who care
    2) Talk with people who can help you
    3) Increase the quality of your end product or service

    And not necessarily in that order.
