I had almost 3-4 popup ads on my website, the rates on each network were fine. and then I decided to remove those and only put up 1 popup ad (Yllix) coz I thought I could get higher rate if I use only one popup instead of 4 others (and that's what my friend said too). But the thing is that, after removing all other popup ads, my earnings on yllix decreases suddenly. like $8-$11 to $3-$6. Does anyone know why this happens?
There are several ways to serve popup ads: 1. RON run of network - in this case, there is no sophisticated match between the advertiser and the publisher (or the end-user) 2. Data targeted - in this case, there is matching between the advertiser targeting needs and the end user (targeting can be based on demographics, income, marital status etc) 3. Contextual - in this case, there is match between the advertiser's offer and the context of the page/URL (keywords), these are very targeted campaigns which tend to perform very well for advertisers. Therefore, they are willing to pay more, and at the end of the day, the publisher (you) will profit from that. I assume you are using a company that shows pops "RON - run of network" without making a sophisticated match between the context of the site and the advertiser. If you are looking for small amounts of pops, that yield high CPMs I recommend you use contextual pops. Best
It had nothing to do with the fact you removed the other networks popup codes. Maybe , like mediasavvy says, there are not to much RON campaigns available or Maybe some of the advertisers blocked your traffic because they did not get the results they expected. I recommned you to work with at least two networks, 1 pop /12h(for a less annoying end-user experience), for better results.
Dear, If you like to place only 1 popup, you must edomz popup. They offer best rates ever if you use only their popup. Their eCPM is also ti high than yllix.
