I have a simple question, any of you use speech to text software to make articles I am talking about something like Dragon Naturally Speaking. Anyway just curious, I have started writing some articles but thought this might be faster to pump them out.
yes i got it , its a bit much money but soo worth it , it does what it says and really has cut my article time in more then half 500 words takes about 10 min or so and the it reads so much better , you speek what you think .... GET IT!!!!
I suppose it depends on you're typing skills. For me the most time consuming part of writing articles is researching the topic I'm writing about.
Yes I have been playing with it the last couple of days and it is very accurate once you get it all trained. So I am going to put it to work next week as I am real busy this week. Thanks for the response Not sure, but I am sure if your lappy is using it as a mic it should work.
i use the mic it came with , the one on the head it seems to capture words better , but that it will work with any mic you have , bluetooth cool ,,,,,
Interesting... I'm a fast typer though so I don't think it'd really help me. Plus like bigworm says, the time consuming thing for me when writing an article is the research and the making sure it all flows together correctly. It seems to me that if you just wrote an article off the top of your head it'd be pretty rambling and ... not very good. Unless perhaps you are extremely knowledgeable about the subject you are writing about. In that case this may be a great tool.
I have dragon too but I can type faster than dragon prints and at the same time it also comes up with several mistakes which you have to manually correct. And yes it does work with bluetooth as long as that is connected to your computers default mic. I have done it and it works wonders.
Ditto, some articles read ok written in a conversational style, it would be good if you were writing a personal blog or something like that. If you were reviewing products or writing about a product in depth I doubt it would be useful.
Simply Dragon does take some getting used to and does take quite a awile to get used to your voice and so it will make alot of mistakes initially. For myself I simply find it faster and easier to rewrite manually. What I like to do is simply summarize a paragraph into a one sentance summary or point that is is trying to make...so if I'm re-writing a 6 paragraph article I'll start with what are the main points in each paragraph, and then just simply stretch it out to make more words..thus giving you your new unique article.
I use the latest version and it works amazingly well even with minimal training. I'm a pretty fast typist most of the time, like 60-75 wpm, but with DNS I can go 100+ wpm all the time. Most people talk at over 100 words per minute, I believe it's like 120-140 for most people, so that's nearly twice as fast as you can type manually. It's not perfect software by any means but if you are writing you should go back and edit articles that you type manually or speak using DNS, so I don't really see a downside to using DNS. It's worth the money for sure.
