I was wondering if there are any big budget PPC advertisers who would be willing to share some knowledge. I just interviewed for a PPC Manager job with a company that spends $300,000 a month on PPC advertising. I have a very solid grasp of PPC, especially for Google AdWords. But I have no experience managing a budget anywhere near that scale. The only question that they stumped me on was something like "since we have a large budget for PPC its very important that we keep tight control of it, otherwise we can very quickly lose large amounts of money. What reports would you run daily to accomplish this? Why? Weekly, Monthly, and so on." I mentioned a few of the reports I commonly run and the metrics that are most relevant to them, but it was clear they were looking for a more thorough answer. Somehow it appears will be going in for a follow up interview so id like to go back more prepared for it. If you have experience managing a large PPC budget how would you have answered that question? BTW - they use google, yahoo, msn, omniture, etc
Although i dont have experience with this myself (ie: large budgets..) i would imagine, you need to be really specific on the reports for individual areas of the campaign and budgets you will be looking at each day. ie: daily : check top performing ad words and see if they are fitting in with your daily spend limit. weekly: give a full report on spend, CTR, conversion rate etc monthly: give reports on areas that may need changing - performance reports etc
you need to run all the report regarding keywords ,& placements performance report on daily basis. need to check out where u didn't get the conversion on work on it. irrespective of these there are various tools
