A question about WHOIS info date

    If a person buys a domain off of someone else, does the date on WHOIS show the original date, or the date that someone bought it?

    But can't there be a sale that makes a domain go from one registrar to another?

    Even if a domain name were to be transferred from one registrar to another, UNLESS it were dropped or canceled
    [as my be the case with the transfer process employed by some registrars...1and1 (?)], the date would still show the REGISTRATION date.
