A question about URL SEO

I am a Newbie on this area, could you please help me clarify which of the following way is the best for SEO? thanks a lot.

www.**.com/abc
www.**.com/abc.html
www.**.com/post/3.html
www.**.com/2008/08/abc.html

where abc is the keyword, it seems WP SEO plugin uses the last one.

 

I don't think anything is absolutely necessary except the keywords you are wanting to rank for. Personally, I like the first choice: www.**.com/abc-abc (note the dash, not an underscore)

 

The first one is best "/abc" as it's closer to the root then the others and directory level keywords are valued over page name keywords.

Last one is best to use as becoz URL contains the keyword and also will avoid archives duplication issue also!

blogsite.com/category/post-topic

So its better

 

according to your domains 2nd one is the best (www.**.com/abc.html) b'coz it's static domain and the best way to creating internal domain is use hyphens
