Theres alot of people out there from india that do work for the americans. I paid this one guy 300 bucks not long ago for some work that he did on one of my websites.

Heres my question, how much money is 300 USD for people living in india? What can they buy with that? How much would 300 usd in india be for us here?

Well it depends on his location! Some place in India, this $300 is not enough for 1-2 days living and some parts it is enough to stay happy for 1 Month.:)

If you consider PPP, 300 USD in India is something like 1200 USD in US.

the rich-poor divide is really wide in India.

some people live on $2 per day.

a salaried person in a good job usually makes between $500 - $1500 per month. I am not including low-level clerical workers or high-level managers.

Some are happy in even less than that.

In India, rich get richer .
    Poor get poorer.

The rich - poor divide in india is very prominent.

300$ would be nothing for a middle class guy in urban India. He would spend that on beer and hoockas.

For others, it would be two months salary.

But, Ideally someone who has done this job for you with an Internet connection and this level of technical know how, it would be like 70 dollars as you would spend in the US.

It is not possible to generalize the importance of money as its value differs from person to person and his/her surrounding.

As a thumb rule, $ 300 would be enough to carry you through a month if you live a moderate life! :)

USD 300 roughly equals to INR 14000.

    Lets see:
    My house rent: Rs.5000
    My Telephone bills: Rs.3000
    My Food expenses: Rs.6000

My 3 out of 9 basic needs covered!

What else is left? Electricity, server cost, petrol, travel, movies (hehe).

An average Indian earns less than $200, So $300 is more than enough for most of the Indians for a month living.....:)

But there are also people in India who spend more Than $300/day, i think they don't know the importance of money, they just want to enjoy life...... :D

The people who're earning $300 a month cant even fulfill basic necessities of life. There is wide range of living style in india and as most people said $300 may be enough for a months living.

In india 30% of the population lives below poverty line.
