A question about Link Wheel

    I am new to this link wheel thing and I have a confusion about linking those pages (wordpress, blogger) in a link wheel.

    If I am creating a link wheel with blogger, wordpress and all those web 2.0 properties where I will have to create a post (mysite.wordpress.com/post.html) unlike squidoo lens (squidoo.com/mylens) where it would be one independent page and no post. What should I link them to like the site on wordpress or that particular post?

    e.g. Squidoo should be linking to mysite.wordpress.com or mysite.wordpress.com/mypost.html

    and the same question for social bookmarking of the link wheel, do i have to social bookmark mysite.wordpress.com or mysite.wordpress.com/mypost.html

    I'm not much more on doing link wheel. I'm using few web 2.0 sites to populate my articles for backlinks and traffics.

    do you write unique articles for each of these web 2.0 sites or submit one article to each of them?

    I was just reading about link wheels a few days ago. There are a couple different linking strategies, but here's the one that I found easy to follow . . .

    -- Pick the keyword/phrase you want to rank higher for.

    -- Write a post regarding this keyword on Blogger, Wordpress.com, WetPaint, Squidoo, Tumblr, etc.

    -- Anchor link the keyword on each of those different "outside" sites to 1 page on your main site that really focuses on this keyword.
    (Ex. Blogger --> YourSite . . . Squidoo --> YourSite . . . Tumbler --> YourSite . . . and so on)

    -- Next, go back to all of your outside site posts and anchor link them in an "outer chain". Link the same keyword, which you typed more than once in those articles.
    (Ex. Blogger --> Squidoo . . . Squidoo --> Wordpress.com . . . Wordpress.com --> Tumblr.com . . . and so on)

    They say that once you get the one keyword all linked to your site & the minisites chained to each other, start the process from scratch with your next hot keyword. The info I read seems to suggest NOT using the same Blogger, Squidoo, etc. that you previously created. Make a bunch of brand NEW minisites for the next keyword you're targeting.

    I also saw somewhere that if you put 2 posts on each outer site, that should do it. You don't need to keep blogging/tumbling etc. forever, if you already have a blog and other stuff to do with your time. I guess you can consider these off-site, static advertisements that you create & link to your main website (and EACH OTHER).

    I'm early in the process of setting mine up, so let us know how it works for you.

    And P.S it is not white hat SEO, but not exactly black hat. I would state it as a grey hat

    Agree: It all sounds "gray-ish" :) Hopefully, as long as it's all quality content, there will never be any changes in this being allowed.
