A question about directory submissions

    Hi guys and girls!
    I read somewhere that you should not submit your site to more then 4-5 directories per day or search engines might get suspicious.. I think it is a load of BS so i have come to the place where i hope i can get this question answered.. What are your experiences with this?

    Ive submitted a blog to about 40 today and thats not because theres a limit to do in a day but instead a limit that i can actually get done in a day as well as posting on the blog.

    As far as you don't submit to 4000 directories / day... you have nothing to worry about.
    Just make sure to rotate your title & description every now and then for best results.

    Never count how many directories that I have submitted for one day,
    You can submit as many as you can,
    I mean manual submission but not auto submission. :)

    Ok, i just wanted to be sure ;) And yes, i meant manual submission, of course :) Tell me something, how many backlinks do you need get your PR to rise from 0 to 1? I know the google algorithm is a secret and all but does anybody know maybe?

    You already got answer to your question. You can submit to 100s of directories in a day without any issues and it works because directory links take time in getting approved and indexed.

    About your second question. A couple of links from PR2 pages are sufficient to get a PR1.

    I'm dedicating myself to submitting to 10-15 a day with rotating anchor text and descriptions every other day. I'll be doing this for 2 weeks. Seems effective.

    It's not true, You can submit as many as you can minimum you can submit 50 per day.

    Of course. The PageRank is based on the number & quality of your backlinks.
    So as the number of backlinks increase your PR will increase too. Easy as that! :)

    Best way to improve ranking is to submit to yahoo directory as it has pr8 on home page and also give relevant links from 5-6 pages.

    A significant quantity of the free directories and some of the paid directories have very few cached pages. If your website is not placed in a topic that’s cached you will never see a link from it.
