A question about Blogger (Blogspot)

Hi, i want to get a blog from Blogger but i have some questions. First, i saw in the advance setting when you want to create a blog that theres a way for you to host the blog. My question is, this mean that i use my database on my server to store the posts? Second, how can i use a .com domain for my blogger blog? Is this possible? Last, can more than one post on my blog? I mean, only the owner or i can have moderators and they will be able to post as well?

    Thanks everybody.

I can only answer this question. I saw blogs which have more than one contributer. So you should be able to give permissions to other users to contribute.

Sure you can set up a .com blog for blogger on your own space, check my 'recent blog:' or go straight to http://www.foreverblueskies.com

Once you've set up your .com and some webspace and just enter your ftp details into blogger, it will publish all your posts and archives there. Blogger isn't massively sophisticated so it will just publish flat html files, unlike wordpress which uses a db. You can still do some good stuff with your blogger blog... mine is parsed as php and uses server side includes too, so there's plenty of tricks you can do to expand upon blogger.

You'll still use the blogger dashboard to admin your blog and yes you can authorise other bloggers to contribute :)

All my blogs are built in Blogger and published on my own .com domains. It's very easy, you just need to add your host's FTP info in the Settings > Publishing tab. The good thing about publishing to your own domain is you can get rid of that Blogger search bar at the top, which I always found annoying. I put a Google Adsense search box up there instead, which makes some money from search ads.

Another good thing about Blogger is you automatically get added to Blogger search results (search.blogger.com), even if you publish on your own domain - and those can send you a decent amount of traffic.
