Excellent idea!! I think it would be most helpful to have some sort of project board established with a detailed plan, all tasks involved in bringing this idea to life and who is to be responsible for each. If this is to be an organization we should of course start with being organized in the creation and development. In regards to the contributing members and membership fees; I agree there should indeed be a supporters fee in place, also an ODO Approved seal image with a link back to the site should be a requirement of ALL directory owners involved on any level. I have much more to say on the subject, however this should likely be taken to some sort of private area to prevent the idea being hijacked by naughty people. That being said I am on my way now to sign up @ the above mentioned forum
I will second that (actually I was waiting for Mike to join this thread) Mike is the guy I would like to see involved
don't get it, why aren't we continuing the discution on dirowners.org ? about the logo, I'll talk to my girlfriend and see if she has the time, any others who want to contribue are welcomed
he is already an admin. he is also the cashier in case someone, in the future, donates (don't think it would be necesarely). I don't really like playing with other peoples money
For the moment we are gathering opinions and inviting directory owners attention it will come to that phase.
I don't think the name choosen is good for this project, we need something more neutral. We really need this site to become a resource for folks seeking quality backlinks in established directories. The name choosen conveys a place for directory owners to hang-out or do business.
Sorry about the post, my browser's cookies get messed up, so I was replying to a post from ages ago, that my browser thought was new

great idea guys.shutzu i guess directory owners need some great dir owners involved it this site.so we'll find possibility of improving our directories. yea agree with you jg123.for this some good directories owners admins must involve in it and give somethings.
Give it some time to get momentum. A lot of people will hold back on joining until there's evidence of tangible benefits. It's one of those network-effect things: the more people are in the network, the more value there is for everyone involved.
