I am definetly gonna need your guys expertise here.

Right, I was eating chips while trying to fix my VCR (mum needs to do something with it, I dunno). Anyway, all is going well, and I go get a drink. I put my chips down, and my brother goes to the lounge and puts the top back on the VCR.

Unknown to me, I had set my chips down in the VCR inadvertantly when I went to get a drink, so now my chips are stuck in the VCR and I have no idea how to get them out. My parents are out and I am forbidden from using the microwave, so I am getting very hungry.

I called the hotline on the back of the chips packet (Vege Chips, if it matters - number is 1800 730 135, Australia.) and I got some smartass who told me to hose down the VCR.

So now I am very mad and very hungry, and I can't watch my cassetes :(

    Please help me,

    Josh

I would, but its like 10 years out of date.

The edge of the chip packet is stuck in there, stopping the lid from sliding. I would go in through the front panel (where the video goes), but I can't fit my brother's hand in there. I only have 3 more packets of chips left, then I am gonna need real food.

    I'm 15.

uhh..why not just unscrew the top of vcr again? and hope that the chips haven't ruined the cassette or the vcr..

Its not screwed on, it slides and clips, and the chip packet has lodged it. Seriously, I have tried lodging a chisel under there and pulling it up - it barely budges, I can get one corner a small way up, and am about to try gently tapping it with a mallet. I could just cut it off, but I don't want to damage it.

Righteo, that makes a lot of sense, I'll go take a pic. Try to image a closed VCR though, and that what it is. Nothing is really visible.

EDIT: Mallet got it. It seems to be working fine, but it smells really oily. Is there anyway to cover that permanently?

    EDIT2:
    Lol, probably.

    The oil in the chips.

I got some of my dedorent and sprayed it around. Worked very well, I dunno how long it will last though, hopefully for long enough for the VCR to air out (before mum gets home hopefully)
