Over here I do not want to drag the same old discussions. I am not writing any ebooks also. I just want share as I want to learn from you guys too. I have a small website development business and made a CMS website for a customer. It is already very popular in its niche and hence, it has a page rank of 6. My little website design site is an instant PR5 after being up only a few months just thought I would share. As it is popular in the niche that it belongs, I use to use anchor text links at the footer of the site. Obviously, I target the most potential links over there.
I've also got another website for 12 months and done no SEO whatsoever, and it is still on the first page on Google UK and .com for a host of key phrases.
PR is highly debated as to whether or not it counts towards ranking a website. Personally, I think it has very little count, but I don't think it passes nothing at all.
I never really visit my own site since it is more or less a static billboard - so it could have been anywhere from a few days to a month for the page rank to pass.
I have had a PR6 link since May plus other various lower PR links on one of my sites, yet my site is only PR3.
I do know some sites and they have pr4 and no significant traffic and so on... I just want to say that PR is useful but is it the proper indicator of incoming traffics?
Nice information! Yes, you have really given me some brain works. Thanks for sharing this. I will try to think over it and if I come with something, will let you know definitely.
