I wanted to share a PPC strategy that I have been fine tuning over the last year. I can't give away too much because I don't want to lose my competitive edge. I know PPC is scary for a lot of people because of so many horror stories of lost money. I want to share one of my techniques with you today that costs almost nothing. I have developed many ppc strategies that are unique and profitable but this is by far and away my best strategy. I should probably do an IM product on ppc but I hate the BS that comes with the IM niche. I think anyone would agree that one of the most important elements to internet marketing success is keywords. Traditional ppc thinking is this. Find a product that you like, build a landing page or whatever for that niche with affiliate links built in, create ppc campaign trying to discover the best keywords. Sometimes it works.....sometimes it don't. It most certainly can get expensive. My technique is the opposite of that. I find the keyword first. I'll say it again. I find the keyword first. Basically it goes like this. I find a keyword that has little or no competition. I then find out the search volume on this keyword. I then find products that match up. Finding keywords can be very easy. I have a secret method that I won't be sharing but there are many ways. While I was typing this post, my daughter was watching Dora the explorer. I searched google for dora episodes and dora the explorer episodes. One had one ad and the other none. Not sure how many searches are done on this per month but a quick dora landing page with some episodes and other merchandise through amazon's affiliate program and i am the only competitor. Clicks will be next to nothing. to ensure high quality score, make the header exactly what the ad is. So in this example "Dora Episodes" would be both the ad and the header of the website. I have a keyword that costs me .10/click. I convert about 1 in 10 on it and get about 100-150 clicks a day. So $10-$15 gets me about $300/day. That one keyword is a $90,000+ profit per year. There are a lot for clickbank products as well. Many of you have found these keywords while looking for them to match up a product. There are few of them and in some case none of them for some products. Going the opposite way of finding a keyword first opens up a world of opportunity. I hope this post will get at least one person's creative juices flowing. It is wide open and we could all do it and rarely compete. Greg
Nice tip. I'm far to cheap to venture into PPC but I am interested! Do you have any problem with quality score, I've been hearing lately that they are getting pretty tough on that?
Nice informative post, I come across awesome potential niches to publish all the time but legal complications prevent me from anything more than wishful thinking. This is one way to monetize my own randomness
"They" are the search engine WITH traffic volume...Yahoo is pretty dead in terms of long tail keywords, and MSN...I don't even want to talk about that.
Actually, they are the search engine with the most traffic but the other two you mentioned are still viable options and in some cases the only option. I have 3 campaigns that I only run on MSN. Why? because it isn't profitable on the other two. I have 2 on Yahoo with the same conditions. I don't have a single campaign that I run only on google. Blanket statements just don't do you justice. You have to do your due diligence and test everything. MSN is actually my favorite of the three. Also, this isn't about long tail keywords. These are just very specific and strategic keywords.
I guess you know what you are doing, because what I'm saying here is from my personal experience, which wasn't really enjoyable
Thank it is very brilliant idea. I know if you have been in IM for a while, you will be able to pick up this small and yet effective method 100%. I get one sale from my CJ product after I put my landing to work in 3 hours. I only make 10 dollars though from 1 sale but it costs me only 45 cents for 5 clicks. Thanks, I feel like this small tips is better than CB-Code I wasted my money on lolz. Will keep on blending this strategy for more products.
Dom... wtf!!!!! lol. Nice post. This is something I've been twiddling my thumbs about, but you're already making money with it. Good Job, bro. I owe ya a tip .
That's the way I've been doing it for years. I thought everyone did it that way If you want to try something different, and profitable, do the same thing except don't worry about the competition too much. Take a look at how someone else is running their campaign and just do it better. Granted, this isn't always possible, but when you do find one you can beat, it is money in the bank. Good luck!!
This is a great post. It all starts with keywords....I use the keywords I find to guide which domain name I buy and which to use in the ads and landing pages as well. Great information!!
Great stratigie, but that work very much with Amazon affiliate program, because amazon has all products in any niche and you don't need a landing page with many keywords!!
Great post, dom! I've been trying to change my 'way to think' about CB marketing: from choosing a product to choosing a keyword. Now it's just wait and see!
It may seem simple to some but it is the biggest money maker I have ever had and I have had some big ones in the past. Best of luck on your efforts and I hope you find some gems. I'll be waiting for that tip It is a great business isn't it. There are so many ways to do the same thing that there is always room for a tweak of an idea. It can be tough to change the way you think and you don't want to change all of the way you think. This is just another tool to build your earnings. Let us know how it turns out for you.
Great post Dom, I have been severely beaten up (financially) using PPC with little or no results so this idea is like a breath of fresh air. As you said, same process but done in a different order to produce a much better result. I will give it a go and see if I can get PPC to work for me this time.
Thats a great tip! I think thats why so many people fail with google adwords, they forget how important keywords are..
