A non-PayPal shopping cart for a business?

    Hi everyone,

I am using Google Checkout right now as a shopping cart for my coaching, writing, editing, and information products sales.

I am looking for something (that is NOT PayPal) that is easier to integrate into my sales pages or to use to take credit cards directly over the phone (in the case of my coaching clients.)

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Stephanie

Reviewing your question, it sounds like you might be looking for a merchant account. If so, looking at your location (Virginia) - you have a number of different options. Even Paypal offers an option for United States residents to take credit cards over the phone (and on your (secure) website). Usually this is done with a merchant account and an electronic payment gateway (Quantum, Authorize.net, Payflow, etc). Most of these gateways will provide the merchant with a virtual terminal. You can then sign into this online, enter the information.

Having this electronic payment gateway will also allow you to accept credit cards on your (secure) website. Think of the gateway as akin to a POS terminal.
