Its been heard that Google created a black version of its search engine, called Blackle(www.blackle.com). It has exactly same functions but the difference is but obviously with lower energy consumption..so what do you guys think? PS: You can too post such inciting stuffs here at www.profitimo.com/Resources/Scribble.aspx
I think the different is more than lower energy consumption, the search result is different from Google result as well.
It does not belong to google. That may explain why the search are slightly different. The idea is that it should save energy to use a black background instead of a white background as it is done in google. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackle.com
Save energy with a black background? I don't really think so. With dark screens I need to turn a light on at my desk to see things other then my computer, so that's more energy *shrug*
This is not google's site. its a search engine which is based on google search result by internal search. When people put any search term, this site gets the result done by google and displays in its own page
Custom search. Someone owns that site and makes money of the searches displayed if people click on the sponsored ads
On earth day Google changed there background to black, and it saved power. It was there decision, and not to mention was a note to everyone to "Turn the lights off". There are many "Black Google's" out there, and it is just custom searches that look like google.
Wow thought that was Google for a sec but yea I guess it's owned by an independent company. My favorite version of Google is http://www.g00g13.com which really is a Google site.
It's not an independent company or anything, it's just some dude who wanted people to try and save power. I can read it fine with the black background, so I use it whenever I remember to.
the bottomline is the founder is smart enough to lure you with "Black Google" fairytale stories and make money off google adsense ads using custom search
Anyone can make custom search. I bet the owner of that site is raking in the dough. Nice idea though.
