Hey Everyone, This is something that we're planning to do so I thought it would be a good idea to throw it out to get some feedback. We're starting a Shopping Comparison Website and in order to raise some funds to promote it we're planning on selling something called 'Category Links'. This is how we're planning to work it..... Let's say for example these are all the categories that we will have on the site: http://uk.shopping.com/xSN, what we're planning to do is sell a limited number of links on each category page. So if you sold Digital Cameras you could purchase links (search engine friendly) on the Digital Cameras category page (http://uk.shopping.com/xPP-Digital_Cameras) and so on. These links would be ideal as they would be well targeted and thus provide traffic in addition to SE benefits. Let me know what you guys think. Could this work? Is there any better ways that it might be done? Look forward to those responses Ant
Anything can work as long as you put your best efforts, mind, and heart into it. Don't let anyone slow you down with their negative crap.
Buddy you might need to be a bit clearer, your building a site like that and you want to know if you should place links / banners / adds similar as listed in the directory ? Yes you could and you best source o business / links ads would come from the retailrs in those lists so they could get extra exposure. so maybe an offer to those people would solve your problems
Hi DownUnder, Yes, we're basically planning to sell link ads on the various category pages. Ideally to provide link buyers (advertisers) with Traffic, SE benefits and branding.
