It's not fake, I got this too, as you can see in the attached file.

Funny thing is that it is right below another 720x90 ad and that one had no Google logo.

First thing that I thought of was that Google may be trying to use images generated by some script as alternate way to track ads or something like that.

I could go either way on it, one thing is for sure though, i'm so sick of bullshit blending meant to mislead users i could fucking vomit. So all of you whiners can pretty much rott. As far as it ACTUALLY changing your page-layout, i'd like to see that. As i think what you really mean is your blending; layout.

OMG! That sucks, I also hope they dont' make it permanent as this will def. hurt CTR in my opinion. Please let it be a test! Please let it be a test!

In this Ads by Google page, Google is saying :
So if any of you guys have feedback about this new change (or test, because I really don’t know if this is a limited time test or a final feature), email them a few words, be it good or bad.

I blogged about this Ads by Google branding myself.

Why are they becoming worse and worse for the publishers?

First the smart-pricing, now this. Boy will thousands of publishers jump to YPN once that comes out.

but text 'google' in 'ads by google' was orange and bigger size.
    and text background was white.

Well, it's not that bad IMO if the background color matches with the ad block bgcolor... currently, its white.

This is what I got today :
