I still don't like it. I didn't even like when they introduced the "Gooooogle" text. Every change just seems like a way to detract attention away from the actual ads. :/

This is normal. Google is just experimenting on some sites.

I have to say, I have stopped seeing these on my ads. Anyone else in the same position?

I see it on my pages from time to time. Sometimes it is the full word Google, sometimes it is just the G. It appears (and I stress appears - I could be wrong) to be completely random.

I don't really mind it so much though. A good percentage of my traffic is people who come several times a week. Those people are accustomed to seeing the ads, so when something like this comes up it probably helps draw their attention. I just wish it was more consistant and not so hit-and-miss.

I just created an ad unit for the first time in months, and saw the Ads by [G] the first time it loaded. The ad unit was a "large rectangle" with text ads only, and all backgrounds were white.

I've only seen these a couple of times on text ads (not mine). Sometimes there's not even the "Ads by..." text.

Edit: Just a few minutes ago I saw one (468x60) with "Ads by Goooooogle" followed by the G icon. It's the first time I've seen both used.
