I'm looking for a new tv, not too big, not very expensive. Any ideas?

I bought a VISIO 42" 1080p a few months back for my room and I am very pleased with it so far. The picture quality is great! I paid just around $400 for the set at Sam's Club.

I like it so much that I am looking at the VISIO 55" with all the internet Aps.. for the living room... but i have yet to pull the trigger on that one, which sells for just under 2k.

Well it depends on what you are going to do with the tv, are you looking to use it for gaming, or only for movies?

If you are going to have it in a dark room or where there is not going to be direct sunlight and want to save some money I suggest getting a plasma tv. They are also easier to maintain.

But if you going to have it where there is direct sunlight or a very bright room, then your best best would be and LED LCD tv. But they are generally more expensive, unless you get the 720P version.

    I've seen a few good 50" plasma, 1080P, for around $800 and the 42" were like $400-$600

Any LCD TV in the size of 32" will fit your requirement, I think.

    LED TVs are costly.

go for plasma as their contrast ratio is much better than LED and LCD.
secondly if you are going for screen less than 30 inch
    then 1080p/1080i/720 p .won't make any difference

Get a Visio. They're cheap, and get surprisingly good reviews from home theatre snobs.
Go for plasma if you've got a room that you can darken during the day, or LCD/LED if you haven't.

Check out thrift shops, they have CRT televisions lining the walls, and they'll pretty much give them away.

I bought a 26" vizio 1080P Full HD tv from Costco for around $250 at christmas. It sits on my desk in my room. I play games on it, plug my laptop in it, watch movies from my bed. Its perfect.

Vizio is a pretty decent brand. They are cheaper then most big brand tv's and do the same. They also have Vizio Internet Apps which is awesome. Netflix built into your tv :]

I also think that LCD TVs are one of the best ones. But my parents think that the best TV is old LT TV. We can find them in museums:)

Depends on your budget and also if you need HD ready or FULL HD. Also LCD or LED.

I can suggest you to go for FULL HD LCD Tv.
