A new tracking code of Google Analytic!!

I noticed today that Google is giving a new tracking code for analytic. The previous urchin tracker is also there, and now there is a new one - ga.js. Google says that the old tracker will not be updated anymore and the new one will bring "wide range of exciting new features".

Has anybody used it? How different it is from the old one? And when did it became available?

I heard that using analytics has negative effects as well. It checks the backlinks to ur site and decreases your PR and overall rating. I'd appreciate if anyone can confirm that.

P.S. I removed the code from my website about 2 months ago, however analytics still work. :)

    They should not.

Google would be lambasted by privacy protection agencies for using their analytics program in such a manner.

Why does Google specifically need Analytics to check the backlinks to your site btw ?

As for overall rating, you are probably suggesting " the low time visitors spend , hence the site is not good enough'' thingy. So, go ahead and blast your competitors site with zero second visits, and see him go down ;)
