a new suggestion to deal with abandoned contests

other contest websites have a feature where designers can check how many times a certain contest holder has abandoned his/her contests. unfortunately, DP doesn't have any similar features built in yet, but crowquill has suggested a way we can make it easy to mark which CH's abandon their contests.

here's how it works: when a CH goes 7 days without updating a contest, one of the participating designers should go to the CH's profile and leave a visitor message with a link to the abandoned contest. something like this:

that way, we designers can quickly check a CH's profile for abandoned contests and avoid him/her if necessary.

i am not saying that CH's should award a winner every time. but there needs to be some way for designers to easily track which CH's are unreliable.

    what do you guys think?

Thanks for putting up this thread l3fty.
But leaving a visitor message is not going to solve the problem of abandoned contests .
They don't listen to us if we try to battle through posting a Visitor Message.
We can't change few built-in characteristics of human beings which they
inhered by birth. A courteous manner of every member will keep all the problems away.
Good Luck to all the designer with future contests.

    crowquill,

the idea isn't to make the CHs change their ways, it's to help the designers know which CHs to stay away from.

anyways, i've been told that visitor messages can be turned off, so that makes my suggestion useless anyway after all.

Well it still was a great idea.. hopefully down the road DP will have something to help prevent this sort of thing....
