A New Search Engine

I met this guy in chat. He is making a new SE and needs feedback.

Is it just lifting results from other SEs...?

 

Its a nice website , can prove really helpful to the users .

 

A. Its slow as hell
B. where is it getting its results?

 

It is a bit slow, why does it open a new tab/window as well?
And where are the results from?
It does look like the results are coming from other SEs, but I can’t say for certain.

Yes, its working like a meta search engine , a classic meta search engine,results from different search engines, hats off to this guy , for one man , quite a job , beautiful looking homepage toobut certainly not yet good enough to compete with the very best like Google or Yahoo , but a nice site nonetheless.

Wow. Two brand new members make their very post on this thread. Interesting. I agree with all the ones the replies above (from the members with 2 or more posts under their belt) that it is slow. The results pages isn't so attractive either. Not sure where the results are coming form though.

 

Not to be rude, but I was thinking it looked like one of those website not found - parked pages. Could use a little more speed.

 

Yeah, slow speed and opening a new window is annoying.

Starting a new search engine that will actually be successful will take a lot of money and some very smart people. Not an easy feat IMHO.

 

The name is not well thought out as MSW stands for Masters in Social Work. The site resembles many other ones, and does nothing to stand out.

I agree. I don't find it attractive using a colorful text and the new page for the search result is not a good idea.

This is different than others, although it currently doesn't have a spider, (Which i'm working on) it gives all submitters equal and fair display chances. The search function isn't working at all.

 

It is working fine for me.
But if the robot is not working then there isn't much use for it.

But, has some shortcommings like :
