A new search engine ?

I am a php developer from Constanta, Romania and I wanted to ask you guys, is it worth it to invest time and money into a search engine ?

I made a scraper a long time ago, but I did not continued it, so what you guys think ? Should I make a search engine or an image search engine ?

i think you should make both of them, if you just make one of them it won't be perfect.. but that's up to u my friend.. i just gave you my opinion..

You can't compete google btw you'll get crashed

if your search engine could be unique somehow like the dofollow engines popping up then I say go for it.

 

It's going to be hard because you have a lot of competitors and you must add a reason why people should switch over to your search engine browser. It's going to be a hard accomplishment, but it can be worth while. I say go for it if you are determined.

 

I'm not sure Romania already has its own local search engine. If not or it's weak, then try make one for Romanian people. People always welcome what is made in their country for the country.

 

Yes it has one, but it takes results from google search and then stores it into their database, so that sux.

I want to make my own scrapper.
