A more in depth tool to look at AOL data

I'd like to present a more interesting and meaningful AOL tool enhanced by advanced stats.

    http://www.decenttools.com/aol/

Some of the interesting features of this tool are...

Let's say if you make a search for viagra (http://www.decenttools.com/aol/keyword/viagra), besides related keywords and unique referrer count, it shows the stats of average top clicked position on search results as well as the website which got most traffic from the query.

Search by domain name (http://www.decenttools.com/aol/domain/http://www.digitalpoint.com) shows the same data as Google Sitemap and more interestingly you can see nearly all the keywords which brought traffic to the website, number of unique visitors and average click position.

Stats section of the tool provides an in depth analysis of AOL search data on different aspects, like most clicked position, query length, top keywords etc.

Well, if you have any ideas how this tool could be improved further, please let me know :)

    Thanks!

Carowan, stats were calculated by myself using a full collection of AOL provided queries.

Well, if you could suggest what else should be counted, please let me know ;)

Some people asked me why this tool migth be useful, well here's a list of examples:

    • another authoritive source of data which could be used while evaluating keyword popularity.
    • research of related keywords.
    • spy on your competitor websites, like which keywords brought most traffic (why this keyword? How did he manage to outrank me? Is it keyword stuffing? Ideas for keywords to optimize your website for etc), check users loyality level (if uniques number is close to referrers, users are not loyal via verse...) etc
    • impulse to start thinking about other factors which could help let's say increase CTR on search results of your website; Why after entering a particular keyword the most clicked position was third not the first? Is it due to the better website's description? Or SE didn't provide expectable results?
    • research your potential visitors, buyers; How queries were reformulated, who they are as data is based on real queries and real users.
    • market research. What were the hottest niches. Was it influenced by the season? No? It's still might be hot!
    • either to prove or decline many hypothesis, like is a first page of search result really gathers most of traffic? Is it better to be on 9th or 10th place of search results?
    • for fun.. sometimes users issue quite weird queries..
