A moral dilemma...

I'm new(ish) to directories but my hearts in the right place and I need some guidance for those who are older, wiser or more experienced.

    The background:
jooomla.co.uk is a domain I registered over a year ago. I've sold some site wide links on there and a few featured/regular listings. Current PR=1.

welink2u.com is an expired domain bought a couple of months back, no PR and no content.

    The Dilemma:
I want to move all the links to the latter as it far more descriptive as a general directory.

    The Solutions:
    1] Do nothing.
2] Make the switch and refund listing fees.
3] Make the switch and don't refund.
    4] Other

Look forward to hearing what you all think...

Contact those who paid for the sitewides and listings, advise them that in the near future you will be moving the directory to another domain name.

Offer them the option of receiving a refund or having the listing carried over.

unless and untill u plan to do something else with the first domain,
i would suggest launching a new directory with the second,
to have 2 directories in the end,

welink2u.com may well be more descriptive but personally, jooomla.co.uk to me is a lot more memorable!

On the down side moving will mean loss of PR however your only a PR1 currently so its no major problem, on the upside of this you're going to be opening another directory, hence presumably you'll be promoting, so theres going to be more traffic... which is obviously a good thing for those sitewides.

Personally i'd be more inclined to stay where you are and do nothing...

Or maybe you can setup a separate directory at welink2u.com and then promote it until you feel that the new directory is good enough to convince the customers at jooomla.co.uk to have their links moved over. :)

i would just send them an email letting them know that the website will be moving to another domain and give them a chance to request a refund and remove their links or have them carried over automatically. after that you can setup some url redirection on the old site for a month or two and redirect it to the new one. being as you will be launching a new domain the traffic could increase or decrease depending on how and if you promote the new website. so it could be a plus in the end for those users who have existing accounts as they will likely gain more traffic through you in the end than they probably are currently.

If I were you--I would not change anything --instead install another directory on the other domain and promote it.:)
