A money-maker with no PR or organic traffic. Value...?

I know this site is worth something, I just have no idea how I would value it. It has no PR, doesn't get any organic traffic worth mentioning, and I've done no promotion except Adwords. Last month my sales grossed $825, net $744.71 after PayPal fees and Adwords costs.

If the traffic was organic I'd know what to ask for this site, but I'm wondering if its dependence on Adwords is such a huge black mark against it that what I could get would make it not worth selling right now.

It's a Wordpress blog in a controversial (but legal) niche with a big demand that isn't likely to change for the foreseeable future. It's a sales page for a PLR book I completely rewrote, and I wrote the sales page also. The ebook is priced at $15. I've tweaked the sales page a few times since March, and my sales have slowly been climbing.

My highest Adwords bill since I went online with this site in March looks like it will be this month, at just under $60. Adwords CPC is a steady $.04.

There is so much I could do with this site to get organic traffic it isn't funny. I've got my strategy all mapped out and material written, but I simply haven't had the time to implement. Now I find myself in need of a cash infusion, so if it's worth selling it "as is" I'd just hand over what I've got to the new owner.

Since this isn't an official "I'm ready to sell" post I'd rather not post a link to the site, but if anyone is intrigued enough to ask I'd be happy to send the link in a pm. But mostly, I'd be grateful for any opinions offered on whether or not the lack of PR and organic traffic make it not even worth trying to sell until I've developed it further. Thanks!

 

It's hard to say. PR isn't really important though so don't worry about that. I may be interested, depending on the niche, you could pm me the url if you want.

 

Personally, I don't see the Adwords as a black mark at all. It is just part of the advertising costs of running the site. The question come down to - "If I buy this site, will it operate the same way in the short term if I don't do anything different as the previous owner?" The ebook selling market is different than proxies, ebay sites, image hosting sites, myspace resource sites, etc. Sometimes its three times the month revenues. Proxy pricing depends on other factors.

Yeah, I guess that would be the million-dollar question for me if I were on the buying end. But even though this site was a lot of work to set up, now it really is "hands free" except for a few (and I do mean only a few) emails a month from people asking off-the-wall questions. I don't mess with my Adwords campaign, I don't mess with anything, I just leave it on auto-pilot now.

Wow, I'm really surprised by both your answers, thanks for taking the time to post. I don't really *want* to sell this site, but since I need some cash for another project I'm encouraged that this might be the way to get it.

congrats on the work you've done on the site, and that it's working. Definitely, non-organic traffic isn't a black mark. Just having organic traffic doesn't always translate into as much profit as an adsense site... I'm interested in checking it out for the possibility of buying it if you don't mind sending the url.
