wow a million backlinks, I think you would be penalized so much after the first couple thousand links that it wouldn't matter anyway
1millions link look suspicous to google eye. i would love to get around 10k links per year is enouh for my site
Not worth risking it, just carry on at a nice steady pace and do it over time not try rush silly amounts in one year, play the long game.
That requires 2,739 backinks a day.. The only people who can get away with that number of links coming in daily is mega sites like fox,cnn or facebook.
For something is good, take 200 backlinks per day * 30 * 12 = 72 000 backlinks per year is good. If your website is running for more than three or four years, it's no problem.
A million links isn't impossible, if you are counting sitewide links. Many sites, forums especially, have well over 10,000 pages indexed, that means you'd only need 100 of these sites. Remember, it's always quality over quantity.
Of course it's possible however it's completely another thing if your website is visible in Google's index after that There's very few sites that can't be knocked over with steady, quality link building. If you need A LOT of links to rank, then I would suggest to start getting highly relevant authority links from your niche. You'll save a lot of work and get results much sooner because it's easier for Google to calculate "trustworthy" link graph for your site.
I agree with you Stephen, however, there are many instances where something becomes viral and there are tens of thousands (if not more) of backlinks for a particular site overnight, more the next day and so on. There are probably more times when someone 'sponsors' a site. For example, I'm certain for the right amount I could get a sitewide link on www.webmd.com and it's subdomains, the primary domain has over 500,000 indexed pages, and there are many subdomains will even more pages. I'd wager over 2 millions pages. If I were to 'obtain' a link there, would google 'ding' me? Probably not because webmd.com is an 'authority.' Likewise, most major newspapers offer paid links and these sites have tons and tons of pages. A link on these will not 'discredit' the target url, but the weight it passes may be subject...
if it's from 1 million unique domain name I think it's possible, but for sure it will be way too hard to achieve. but if it's just a any type of link I think it's very possible.
Yeah, you are right. However one of the things Google is specialized is analyzing patterns. Explosive viral campaign is very clearly identifiable because there's always big sites that drive it further like Digg, Slashdot, etc. Now when you create let's say 1 million links with Xrumer or similar tool, there's no clear pattern how it happened and why which looks very suspicious. Site-wide links are really not an issue because it's all in one domain or subdomains under one domain. I also believe that only 1 link per domain is counted with "full juice", the rest are counted but with less juice. Actually it has to be like this because otherwise it would create serious skew in the rankings.
1 millions backlink in 1 year, mean about 3k backlink per day, it's too difficulty, you must have more sourcing.
It is very possible, either blackhat or whitehat with something completely original and useful. I suggest and employ only whitehat tactics
Well...I will try to think about something unique! What about submitting website templates. I can create free website templates with a link to my website in template footer...can I do it this way?
With Sitewide links it's very possible. Just think about how big a site such as digitalpoint is. If it formed a partnership and added a website to it's sitewide links the website would be half way there. Just keep getting them in bulk.
