I am not sure what parallel universe mean in exact, so I can't answer your question, but I can tell you that Muslims do believe in Jinn or Djinn because Quran talks about them and Muslims believe that Quran is the words of GOD.

I think Justice Brandeis said it best.

In thrust he said "that the best response to negative speech is not forced censorship, but reasoned response."

“that fear breeds repression; that repression breeds hate; that hate menaces stable government; that the path of safety lies in the opportunity to discuss freely supposed grievances and proposed remedies; and the fitting remedy for evil counsels is good ones.”

“Fear of serious injury cannot alone justify suppression of free speech and assembly. Men feared witches and burnt women. It is the function of speech to free men from the bondage of irrational fears.”

“If there be time to expose through discussion the falsehoods and fallacies, to avert the evil by the processes of education, the remedy to be applied is more speech, not enforced silence.”

Yes I second that. You can not expect respect, love when you slapping hard on face. You have to understand the love & passion

I don't think anyone is looking for love and respect from Muslims on this issue. Muslims are free to feel whatever they want. All people expect is civilized reasoned response.

The Muslims can write all they want about the incident. Muslims can boycott any product they want. Muslims can organize peaceful protests.

What they cannot do is threaten violence or do actual violence in response to a cartoon or any other alleged offense against Islam.

Lastly, this canard about being arrested for denying the Holocaust is not relevant to anyone in the United States. I would oppose any law which criminalized professing a certain point of view. The answer in my country to Holocaust deniers is not jail or criminal sanction but rather more speech and social condemnation. That should be the law in all countries.

I would beg to differ on that, granted that you are slapped hard, but you don't burn that guy's car, house and wanted to assassinate him for slapping you.

I have to ask - who is slapping anybody? How does a cartoon, no matter how vile, or a point of view, equally vile - how does any of this constitute raising a hand and imposing physical violence on another, requiring violence in return?

As I said, lots of us insult the hell out of each other in daily life - on this very forum, for one. Do any of us have the right to react with violence because of it? When an puke on the freeway screams "go back to California, asshole....and, and....Obama supporters blow!", do I have the right to shoot him because of it?

    No.

No worries :) Ziya was giving an illustration or example and I reply with what I feel was the response using the illustration as a benchmark.

I hear you, Wisdom - my question wasn't to you, sorry if my use of your post implied that it was. My question was really a call for a declaration as to what does, and doesn't, constitute a "slap." The literal meaning - violence on another - and figurative - an insult, or offense - are obviously pretty important things to distinguish, it seems to me.

A parallel universe is another dimension or world that exists just like we do. Assuming this is reality and the Quran is correct, the Djinn are much like humans, only more advanced. With few exceptions, we cannot go to their world, but they can come to ours. They follow religions (plural), in Quran it said muhammed went as a prophet to them as well. They do not all believe in Islam. They have armies just like humans, and live in societies much like ours. Sometimes they get bored and come mess with us and they can become other life forms as they choose. That is a parallel universe.

This is getting more and more like a Physics lesson. I hope I won't be seeing "Beam Me Up, Scotty" in this forum soon :)

Islam is a works based religion - whereas as Bible believing Christianity is a faith based religion. This is a huge major difference and why the two can not be reconciled, and why the end result is two very different attitudes and cultures.

    You read a lot... :)
    That is very good research...

Just like God made Human beings and Angels, He also made Djinns...

Djinns are more powerful than humans, and live in communities just like humans. There are good Djinns and Evil Djinns.

Djinns generally prefer to live where humans don't. They may live on old trees, deserted houses, and just about anywhere humans are not present.

The stories we hear about evil spirits, haunted houses, demons, exorcism to remove evil spirits, etc and all this stuff, is many times attributed to Djinns.

There were many witches and wizards who practiced black magic and used dark energy. All this dark energy is a result of evil Djinns. (Not related to dark matter or dark energy in the Milky Way Galaxy, I hope :D)

Afreet/Ifreet are the most dangerous of all Djinns as far as I have heard. Djinns are made of Fire, whereas Humans are made of dust.

I've always wished Jinns were real - much as I've always longed for an Olympus. (Really - I was a weird kid, and more or less lived with a belief in the Mediterranean pantheon through my earlier years). Sick days home, with cheesy 60's films, didn't help.

At any rate, I'd rather hear Scheherazade tell her tales than debate with a Jinn.

    I must be tired.:D

There are many Djinn jewelry and spell items on Ebay. Check out this auction:
This jinn sounds like a great guy to have around the house. I wonder if he would do my dishes?:)

there is a lot that been said about jinn ( singular is jinni ) in many cases this was not true, I know about them only what Quran told about them mostly in sura Al-Jinn or sura 72 in Quran.

Some human beings used to seek their help as mentioned in this sura, in Islam its not allowed to use them or seek their help to perform things but its allowed to learn how to treat their possession, its allowed to learn magick in Islam but its not allowed to use it, the learning should be only for protection purpose against black magick.

I am not sure if what you said about them "Sometimes they get bored and come mess with us" is correct, I personally never met one, maybe I m no entertainment for them when they get bored :D

I do not have much info about this topic, if you want more info you can search online but be careful as lot of info related to this subject is not accurate so it may takes time and effort to verify, I would suggest to send a message to www.islamonline.net or similar sites asking them about it

I read that we have a jenni assigned to us, and sometimes they try to influence us to do things we shouldn't. There is also folklore as well, that may or may not be supported by Quran. It is very interesting to me, thanks for the information Imad.:)

Absolutley correct, I'm very impressed. Also it is advised in the Quran to stay away from 'dark magic' - Summoning Jinn and that stuff as it says they do more harm than good, there are mischevious jinn's which can hurt you (even kill you).

You can read Surah 72 ' The Jinn ' Here

Also, the last chapter/surah titled ' Mankind ' confirms the message of the Quran is for Jinn and Mankind.

" Say: I seek refuge with the Lord and Cherisher of Mankind, The King (or Ruler) of Mankind, The Allah (for Judge) of Mankind, - From the mischief of the Whisperer (of Evil), who withdraws (after his Whisper), The same who Whispers into the hearts of Mankind, Among Jinns and among Men. "
