It's all over the web. People are getting disabled left and right. Some are getting notices that their adsense account is a "serious threat" or something like that. There have been thousands in the last few days. One person said they got disabled, then got that cheery little note about the economy two hours later! I can't post a link to it, because I haven't been here long enough, but there's a blog post where someone has started a petition on a petition site to get Google to stop doing this and come clean with why they're disabling so many accounts. Bet they'll get a lot of signatures.
What's a petition going to do ? Unfortunately in order to even get into Adsense you have to agree that they can terminate the agreement at any time. I don't think there's anything that can prevent them from disabling accounts. Now if Google is withholding funds, there might be something that could be done with a class action lawsuit about that.
I got a warning letter too. and a letter about the economy.. My site had been running adsense ads for over 1 year and I have not changed the website at all, and then now all of a sudden im getting a warning letter.. wtf.. Im kind of sad and worried about this.. But my website I got warned about is squeaky clean but I removed the ads and I added the privicay policy page to my other sites with adsense.. Ya I feel its more to it then they are letting on because I know my sites ok and I been running ads on it for a year and never any problem untill now..
I had my old account blocked but got it back. Things seem a little crazy with them,, but are we all sure they are not fake emails. ~ Mike
Hey let's say they disabled my account and i had 120 USD but they accuse me of invalid click , does this mean I cant ever get back my funds?
Not fake emails. Three people I know got disabled. One had gotten a warning letter before, then had corresponded with Google, and thought it was taken care of, because it was one of those things where a porn site used her i.d. One got no warning at all, just bam! and it was gone. One got a warning and disabled on the SAME DAY! As for what a petition can do, it can bring attention to it. This lady is trying to get the national press to pick up on it. Can't you just see the headlines in the NY Times? "Google Disables Thousands of Adsense Accounts, and Won't Tell The Users Why." I'd love to see that.
Hello... Tick Tock - Tick Tock.... Time to save some of that out going money I seen this coming for months now, But i bet they will still accept anything to adwords being the idea is to "collect" and "not spend" in these turbulent times. WE LUV YA BIG "G" laterz malcolm
Yeah I heard of it. Also I read that email from google in this forum. Will google be banning more publishers?. Now they won't leave or warn any publisher for a single invalid click I think (like their own click)
This is the email: I didn't get a warning email. What I heard that smaller site's accounts are getting disabled, not all sites. Infact, I just got my Google check today. I for one have applied for value click media now. For those that still have Adsense, the good news is that Doubleclick technology will be added.
I will expect that google earnings this year will be down and maybe they will declare bankcruptcy?? What will happen if they do that? NOoooooooooooooooooooo...
...Google is a profit making company and if I am not mistaken, it is totally debt-free. why the ... should it declare bankruptcy....
I have had a mini-business years back. Sometimes expenditure exceeds income and if it continues for the coming months. You don't have a choice but close your business.
Google is saying in the email that they will be looking closely at sites with low CTR and poor content. The email was not a warning to any particular site, just a general warning that Adsense site content quality is going to become more important.
They don't disable accounts that abide by the TOS. Maybe they are just being more strict about it? Play the game by their rules.
So do you think they're going to go to a model like Chitika and others, who won't take you unless you get a certain number of hits per month? I guess maybe they're losing adsense business to those other services, because an advertiser wants his ads put onto sites that have a greater chance of getting clicks, and sales.
I am looking to wait to see whether or not that ban me, but i have a good blog and a nice website where i have the adsense links on. I am expecting my cheque soon, and i shall stay on the straight and narrow with them. ~ Mike
