Hi, There is a way to lower your dedicated server costs and no it's not finding a different host or going to shared hosting . I used to pay $320/month for a dedicated server but felt I could no longer afford it. I was going cancel the service when one of the support staff suggested that I reduce the bandwidth that I could use. I discovered that I was massively overpaying for bandwidth that I wasn't even using. He lowered accordingly and now I pay a much more affordable $169/month for my own dedicated server. Why not ask your host if they can do it too. I hope that helps,
He got a lower payment and you got a lower resources. This should not be considered as a tip but a negotiation to be correct. There are some hosting provider that could afford a low monthly price but you have to manage "all" yourself and lack of support from them.
Hmm well most host now may offer unmetered bandwidth, which means you are not paying a single $ for etc bandwidth, or most server comes with a default bandwidth, so even if you are not using it there is no way someone will pay that much etc just for bandwidth. It looks like you did not had idea about what configuration you need and your host were charging you way too much etc for etc bandwidth added.
Hi all I looked into dedicated some time ago. I came across a plan that seemed unbelievable. The server is Canadian so it remains in the number 1 position for advertisers and search engines. These servers are on fiber optics and comes loaded with features. It uses Ubuntu so get one click downloads to thousands of open source programs. Price is under $85 a month and you are bound by Canadian laws instead of American. Really u got to see this. https://www.zazeen.com/OnlinePC.html Hard Drive Space 1500GB System Ram 2000MB CPU 1 Core Download Speed 100Mbps Upload Speed 100Mbps Bandwidth Allocation 6TB Static IP Address YES
Yes its true in some cases this will not help but I think the real TIP here and what "HelpfulHannah" is trying to say is ONLY BUY WHAT YOU NEED! If there is a auto installer that you don't need, disk space that you don't need, then why are you paying for it?
Just out of curiosity, what did you have that was $320/mo? That's a Dedicated Host's dream customer...
