Ok, I am trying to creat a website. I downloaded MacroMedia DreamWeaver in hopes it would help... It does help a little, but it won't let me upload a template I made... any suggestions? I also am using Macromedia Flash8 to make some interactive content, but It doesn't really help... Thanks all,

First, upload to where, your local folder, remote folder, upload it as a template? did you make a 'new site'
go to manage sites - mew site- make the local folder, and put your template there - than connect to your server and upload your template :>
    easy!!

    Umm, I meant in Dreamweaver.

On very top of Dreamweaver, click on where it says Site Then New Site something would pop-up and just type in the infos. Direct dreamweaver to the folder of where you keept the Template.

    Example: C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\My Websites\new template site\

Fill the rest and click ok, you don't need to mess around with any of the categories (remote info, testing server etc,..) there unless you know what to input.

Better yet, I will give you a link to a tutorial site.

    Good luck!

I think you may be getting very very confused.

You need to have hosting aswell. Dreamweaver cant upload your site to a mythical hosting that you havent specified.

If you want to use a template on a site that you are going to create from start then you need first to create a new project (site).

On Dreamweaver 8 do the following:

Go to menu option Site - New Site

Give a name to the site and choose root folder to that site.

After it was created, open the template created on dreamweaver. After opening it, save it right away on option File - Save as Template and you will have your template ready to use on the pages of your new site.

If you create new pages based on that template you will have to create editable regions (Insert - Template Objects - Editable Region).

If you are really new to dreamweaver i would recommend to read this webpage.

One more question: Can you make a template on a program similar to Paint and then upload it and be able to use it? Or would that be way to complicated?
