Don't be frustrated with your pagerank. Many (may be most) webmasters investing into PR too much. As every website owner, you want traffic. There is nothing to do with PR and traffic. Google search results taking into consideration more than 200 factors, where PR is one of them and is not significant one. I have my website with low PR, but it comes in a first page in a first place and before very known websites with PR7-PR8. My example is PR2 website: www.montreallisting.ca If you search for: montreal classifieds my website comes before craigslist and kijiji . I have another webiste with PR4 with 0 traffic and content didn't change for last few years, has no backlinks. My suggestion to you is to invest your time and money in creating more content, more unique content. This will drive you traffic, not PR.
Content is key, agreed, you also need to market your site in every way, specially when starting out, make sure you get high quality one way pr niche links pointing to your site, make useful articles as well regarding your field and submit them to article directories...
All of my sites have taken at least 3 months to get any kind of regular traffic. In the meantime just keep adding articles and backlinks, go for very long tail keywords first until you get the site in the rankings.
Yes, go for lesser keywords in the beginning. Give Google more time. Try linking to some sub pages. Notice that everyone is saying to get quality, high PR back links for a huge boost. Bompa
What do you mean by this? Are you saying that you make some optimization changes and then wait a week to see if there is improvement? If that is what you are saying, you are all wrong in your approach and understanding. Think about it. If Google reacted to your changes in a week, how long would it be before everyone in the world knew what works and what does not? Google (and the others) are designed so that it takes months before you see the effect of a change and in that time so many other things in the world have changed you'll never know if it was what you did in the first place. My advice is to stop trying to game Google. You will not win. Follow the basic steps you learned about in your ebooks, but build your site for visitors, not Google. That is the one message G has been preaching for many years. Google is telling you how to be successful with Google. Yet, so many wish to cheat their way in. I don't see the logic. /*tom*/
everyone, thanks for your help. i've read somewhere..., having fewer links internal (or just links in total) on each page helps a log currently... with oscommence, you have around 50plus links per page.. any thoughts on that
There are many factors that can be considered what is wrong from your site. Try to check your url structure, backlinks, anchor text, content, layout, and more.
