yes. login to google.com/alerts and go to setting/manage alerts, here you can edit or delete your alerts.
Change your preference to once a day or once a week if you don't want your inbox to explode. I've used this in the past and the only problem is that it's not very accurate. It's going to show you pages which google thinks is important only, other pages are going to be dismissed. The same can be said for the link command, you're going to see only a fraction of the links you're getting or your competitor is acquiring.
