Re. the outgoing links from the bbc, you can find them by a creative google search as well, I read up how to do it on Matt Cutts's blog some time ago.

 

Yeah, I believe that is possible to, using the -www.bbc.co.uk demand, can't remember exactly how it goes but I've read that post before too.

It's very easy to find where you can get an outgoing link on the BBC site (note: it's a dofollow too!).

Find a British town of relevant importance (ie. not a village with 12 houses!) - find a community site which offers 'local events' and the like. The majority of these sites will be linked to by the BBC, especially if they are about local events and listings, etc.

I tried my pot luck, got two links from them for my local site, tried it with my business site - no luck, it was deleted within the hour. Another easy way is to bend the truth, say your business is doing something "for the local community, visit yoursiteurl.com for more details"

Yeah, it scans pages and shows outgoing sites - and it can scan a lot of pages - thus you can see which section of the site all the outgoing links are and thus, you can also figure how to get your own link on the site.

man great post.. thnx.. i checked some blogs, and it looks like all of them external nofollow.. so do u know nay software which will find pages with external links and without external nofollow? thanks

The vast majority are high traffic or dofollow - I personally haven't come across any 'nofollow' in the list - however, that's not to say some are nofollow links. All the high PR links are dofollow, though

 

Are these directories are free to submit?

 

Directories change like the weather in Scotland. (Yeah, it's true - it doesn't constantly rain here!)

A 'free' directory won't stay free for long. New paid directories won't stay 'paid' for long, either.

I could, but I'm not really into cheap labour. Unless of course you intend to pay £10 an hour for me to explicity gain you links all over the BBC website
