A link in the comment and a link in the post - one and the same???

    Hi guys,

A : I post a comment on a blog which doesn't have a nofollow tag and get a link to my site.

B : I get linked by some blog owner in his post.

Are A and B one and the same in terms of "SEO value"? In other words, which link will the search engines give first preference, more importance to, etc?

Thanks in advance for your time.

A link on the post usually gets picked up faster by search engines than the link on the blog comment.

Obviously the links on the post are more valuable than links in comments

It's definitely better to get a link in a blog post.

Truly the post link would provide the best SEO value, comments are notorious for not getting indexed or provide little to no SEO weight due to spam. I would actually avoid posting your site(s) in any comments, your better off getting quality backlinks from sites related to yours.

The issue is relevance. Search engines don't make value judgments about blog comments.
