yes it will provide link juice to your homepage but not specifically for that keyword. it is still a valuable link to have.
listen, it is important that links have variety! it will look incredibly natural to have this sort of link and its actually the way alot of genuine edu websites link to other sites. Think about how sites like facebook are linked, they will have a variety of links too
In my opinion, as long as the link is not from a link farm or a spammy type site, it will be valuable. So, no link is a bad link, unless your spamming the internet.
