Hi guys! I would like to know your thoughts on this issue. I have a website that has a nice PR already and is getting constant fresh content. Well i was thinking of using that site for PR juice for one of my upcoming projects. Here is the question. I know that i should change the titles and description when i submit to directories if i want to rise in SERPS, but what if i dont care about the serps and just want to build backlinks? Will the link juice from directory submissions still come if i use the same title and description over and over again?
Of course it will help you get backlinks even though you use the same title, and description but if you are submitting to hundreds of directories then its always good to use alternate titles and descriptions as it will help in better indexing of links and content as well. Link building will also look natural
submitting to hundreds of directories is a waste of time. Focus on the best directories like yahoo, dmoz and a couple of others
@gainerguru Thanks for that answer. @webpromoterservice Well that was not what i was asking about.. To get in dmoz is a problem, to get in smaller general directories is not.. And one backlink more is never worse then not having it..
"And one backlink more is never worse then not having it.. " I sometimes wonder if some of my backlinks help or not. I have heard conflicting views on this and I guess the real answer is with the peeps who write the algorithms for the search engines. Just to clarify I have some no follow, PR0 backlinks. Mabey it just shows a nice growth pattern that looks organic which cant be bad i suppose Andy
You are absolutely correct, it is completely natural to have some NoFollow links pointing to your site and Google totally expects it, it is also natural to have varying anchor text, that's why when I build my backlinks I use my targeted keyword as anchor text about 80%, the other 20% is variations of my targeted keywords, I even go as far as including a few "Click Here" links
