Hi SP I am looking for a little help with SEO on my website. I recently had my website googled by google and I changed some of the keywords on my website so that way I can gain more traffic how ever though I have a few challenges that I need help overcoming..

1: How do I get my website to be ranked on the first page of google for the high competing keywords that I have on my website.

2: I recently updated my site description but google didn't include it or update it.. Did I do something wrong?

3: Which is better for targeting your niche ? PPC or Keyword recommendation and submitting to sites that have relevant content to yours.

1 - this is a very general question and the answer is there are many factors.
2 - how recently did you update your description? and when was the last time google indexed your site?
3 - probably getting traffic from sites with relevant content

I updated the description of my website about 3 days ago and google visited my website 2 days ago.. I don't understand why it only shows the title information even though I made a good description of my website.

Well google doesn't always use the meta description of your site as a search result description, usually it has to be relevant to the site. Maybe google doesn't think your description is relevant enough?

I made sure that I did a few of the meta analyzers and my description to site content was very relevant.

Then it will probably just take some time. Why google does this sometimes I'm not sure..

Are keywords and a good description really that important if you don't have the back links from a relevant website. I recently purchased a seo plan from submit edge and changed my keywords and description on my website but still see no gains.

I'm really getting frustrated because im not seeing any gains in traffic and im going about the seo step by step and following guidelines that I read.. still not enough traffic for my type of site though.

How do keywords and description bring traffic? Well, your position in the search engine will vary, therefore the number of clicks to your site coming from certain searches.

So analyze your traffic, are you getting hits from search engines or from other sites that are relevant?

As for the 'seo plan' you purchased, I can't really comment on that..

    1) If your competition in the niche is tough, older sites may have an advantage on you. You can narrow your niche...you'll get less traffic but it will be better than competing with other big fishes.
    2) The Meta tag (description) has really has nothing to do with SEO. It will show up in your search right underneath the title. That's about it.
    3) Going to sites with the same content.

I did look at your internal link on the index page. You probably shouldn't put "click here". Instead, put an anchor text like "You can find out what a <a href="page.htm">blackberry messenger</a> is." instead of what you have "Not sure what blackberry messenger is ? Click here".

    Hope this helps.

According to analystics my site is referring the most amount of traffic back to it. I don't understand how this is but I don't think analystics can mistake that.

1: How do I get my website to be ranked on the first page of google for the high competing keywords that I have on my website.

Ans: Analyze your site again for keywords, content and stats, utilize keyword combination first then go for exact slowly and cleverly. Link building will help more.

2: I recently updated my site description but google didn't include it or update it.. Did I do something wrong?
Ans: It is not necessary for search engine to pick your defined description, it choose what looks better to it. It could be text on your site or description at DMOZ.

3: Which is better for targeting your niche ? PPC or Keyword recommendation and submitting to sites that have relevant content to yours.

PPC is a time framed and costing effort while targeting good relevant keywords is always impose a great and long lasting impact. Both have its own importance.

Change in site description are not reflected immediately in SERP's it takes some time, So have patience, for sure they will be update but not immediately on google the way it updates as soon as you change on your very own website. Just understand google has to check MILLIONS and MILLIONS of Websites

    Thanks,

1: You have to wait(it can take days or weeks to rank up at Google) and just continue optimizing your site.
TIP: Keywords research, a very important task before you start optimizing, research for keywords that have high search value(or maybe less) and use it as your anchor text, either long tail or not as long as you have a very competitive keyword you will get listed on Google but all depend on how you do your link building...

2: Again, you must wait. Google needs time to update what new in your site. Your pointing out that you have change your description via meta tags right?...

3: Use keywords that are relevant to your niche, then if your going to do blog comments make sure you are posting to a blog related to your site...
