You don't need to be critic in an outside forum, critics are not even tolerated in internal forum or RZ. ;)

Good ass kissing skills is a necessary requirement for editors who want to advance. :D

Contrary to what people would like to believe, removals never happen as the action of just one person. All removals are discussed and agreed upon. In fact, the amount of discussion required borders on excessive IMO.

Editors are not removed for being critical of the ODP, they are removed for breaking the ODP guidelines which are available for all to read.

lol, red rep "you should be ashamed of yourself" for saying:

It's ok for him to rag on the ODP but not for editors to defend the ODP? Seriously, almost everything that guy said was false - right down to the number of edits he claims to have had.

Anyone who denies that such things aren't a common occurrence in the DMOZ hierarchy is either hopelessly naive or a lying sycophant.

It is not at all uncommon for senior editors to slap down junior editors all the time for asking the wrong questions or asking them in the wrong place. The message is loud and clear: We have honored you by allowing you in. Just be quiet and be humble and maybe we'll reward your loyalty with a promotion some day.

    Edit:

I saw this after I posted. Gworld is so much better at putting things succinctly. :D

Unless they are in Adult, in which case they are jump-promoted to the top as quickly as possible for being fast learners.

That actually does happen sometimes. usually for asking a question repeatedly in different threads/forums or for asking a question that has been answered hundreds of times previously but the editor was too lazy to find the answer on their own.

This isn't the same thing as being critical of the ODP though. Trust me, if editors were removed for being critical, I would have been removed years ago for some of the stuff I said in the past. ;)

So what happens now with Chris Tolles. Did he break any rules or guidelines by telling some insights?

If you are critical sidjf, do you think that there are al bunch of idiot dmoz editors still present ? Add those arrogant editors in RZ.;)

If you sincerely believe that, sid, you're not paying close enough attention. The neophyte slapping obviously isn't happening publicly but it is happening.

You're not a new or junior editor without power or backing within the inner circle though, are you?

You're right about that. What they would do is tell you to submit an Abuse Report Crap.

    They love sidjf.:p

There is one in RZ from Europe when he/she became a high rank became, lets say a 101% ass kisser. Used to be a quiet one.;)

Until now you have no slightest idea that I can read ? Hello ? Editor ?

My question is " Did he or did he not break a rule or guidelines."

Aww you're too kind, I feel so special.

Popotalk is asking "So what happens now with Chris Tolles. Did he break any rules or guidelines by telling some insights?"

Sid answered "As far as I know, no he didn't..." I agree with Sid that Chris Tolles did not break any rules or guidelines. ;)
