I tend to set my goals at $1 a day. Give me a chance - I only started this whole website revenue thing a week ago
Congrats! And I have to agree with you when you say its the smaller niche sites that do quite well....now, if only i had the traffic! But, nice work!
I have warm hands too The intention was to motivate, there are sooo many ways to make money online, if you listen to Shoe's podcasts and the whole ppc market, that just is not me though, I do think there is a market where you can step into the fold and enjoy offline businesses branding. I know this because I was paid a large sum of money from a company who had a website but didnt appear in the top 10, instead there were reviews that were negative at #1, in knocking those sites of the top of google I did think it would be pretty easy to rank there myself if I wanted. The person that I dealt with paid plenty not to have that review no.1 for their business name. I have morals and would never want to get envolved in legal disputes but it's easy to rank high for a lot of offline businesses that have not yet embraced the internet. Some of you may say, well doesn't every company embrace the internet and push ecommerce? I would respond and say I am no.1 on all 3 engines for a comany that turns over xx million per year in the UK.
Or having her indoors working for them previously and have a bad experience erm so'k honey, I'll sort it! you never know where the inspiration will come from.
Does google care about copyright issues? Could this put your adsense account in jeopardy? This is a great idea though.
Other web related sources? Such as affiliate programs? Can we get a list of what you use? No need to reveal your URL though
Anyway, off to bed now before her in-my-doors starts to complain. Cheers again for advice, will 'hopefully' sleep on it.
sji2671, couple of questions: 1) This is a consumer brand that you're talking about right? 2) is your site focused on that project or the general category?
first of all, congratulations!!! second: in the 20 seconds that took me to read your post, i probabily learned more than my countless hours reading marketing ebooks, so thank you for sharing your experience. third: about 3 minutes before getting to this thread, i was thinking about leaving all this internet stuff behind and stick to my "12-hour-a-day/7-days-a-week/365-days-a-year" job, but ifter reading the last 2 lines of your post, you made me change my mind. Thank you, and congratulations again!
There is a fantastic idea in there that I am going to take and research for sure!!!! congratulations man! I wa happy that today this is the first time since I have had google that I have had two months in a row where I have earned $100 If I can do it three months in a row I will be very happy, then to aim for $200! I would love to be suplimenting my income by $10,000 I could pay off my car!
No, never had the success in affiliate programs that others have had, I do electronic sales, of which I actually have affiliates that make money from me. I also do physical sales of products online. As far as that idea is concerned the sites I make are legit and talk, review/give information with good adsense built in, the only possible problem that could arise is the company may object to my use of certain domain names but that would suggest they are enlightened to the internet which they generally aint. It was an idea for fun at the start that I developed and I could easily live without them but its good money and little competition with fast results. 1/ Yes, it's easier to rank for a brand than a product 2/ Deals with the brand with info/contact info for the brand and product info. The idea is that even if the brand looked at the site they wouldn't be affended, apart from the fact that adsense usually has their competitiors as competitors often bid on brand names.
Yes definitely congrats! That is a milestone that few reach... I hope to get there someday... you never know! Thanks for sharing.
